Lookout Mobile Security Adds a Safe Browsing Feature for Premium
Read Write Web is one of my favorite places to go to get some intersting and relevant news, especially when it comes to electronics and mobile devices.
Today, they broke a story that the Android app Lookout Mobile Security was adding a new feature that is a "new kid on the block" for mobile antivirus programs.
Only premium subscribers will be able to take advantage of the new service, but as Android's become more prevalent in society, they also become much more of a desirable target for malicious hackers. Time will tell whether it will be worth paying $30 a year to protect web surfing + backup + download scans + file scans + remote wipe and locate services.
There is a free version of the app that I personally use, and I have zero intention of changing it to a paid subscription, but as I said earlier, the future of the "virus" versus the "antivirus" is a chang'n.
